The Bemount Sartorial Olive Gurkha Trouser is a trouser for men, in a tailored fit. Same buckled wrap waistband and double pleats, finished with a turn-up that gives the leg weight so it hangs straight rather than swinging. Olive is the colour that makes the military origin of this cut legible without turning it into costume. Photographed with brown suede loafers.

The Gurkha regiments' service trouser
The buckled wrap waistband comes from the trousers worn by Gurkha soldiers, cut to hold a high rise in place through a long day without a belt. Tailors later took the design into civilian wardrobes, and it has never quite left. Ours keeps the two side buckles and the deep double pleats that give the thigh its room, and tapers the leg so it reads as tailoring rather than uniform.
