Product Details
The waistband is the whole garment: it wraps across the front and fastens with two side buckles, which is what holds a high rise in place without a belt. Double pleats release into a full thigh and taper to the hem. It is a trouser that wants to be seen, worn with the shirt tucked, never covered by an untucked one. Shown with tassel loafers.

The Gurkha regiments' service trouser
The buckled wrap waistband comes from the trousers worn by Gurkha soldiers, cut to hold a high rise in place through a long day without a belt. Tailors later took the design into civilian wardrobes, and it has never quite left. Ours keeps the two side buckles and the deep double pleats that give the thigh its room, and tapers the leg so it reads as tailoring rather than uniform.
