Two buckled side adjusters replace the belt entirely, which is why the waistband is unbroken and sits flat under a tucked shirt. Cut with a clean tailored line through the seat and a straight leg, in a cream linen with visible slub. On the Mediterranean coast in the 1950s and 60s, trousers were cut with buckled side adjusters instead of belt loops, so the waistband sat clean under a tucked shirt. We cut ours the same way, in cream linen with visible slub, with a tailored line through the seat and a straight leg.
